Red River Gorge? That was the first thing I guessed but then I changed my mind.

Dog Slaughter Falls? If so, I haven't been there and would love to learn about hiking opportunities in that area.

Ah - that is quite a hint. Mammoth Cave! We haven't made it there yet, but I love caves and hope to explore there sometime soon!

Probably the most popular (crowded) mountain hike in this national park

Much further south... Maybe this is not distinctive enough. It's in a national park.

Is it in Shenandoah National Park? If so, I'm pretty sure I know what it is, but I'll see if someone else gets it first!

Is it named after something you might use to clean something off?

Yes - you know what it is @Reef&Ruins! I know you're out of photos; do you want someone else to have a turn and we'll let them figure out the mountain name (new towel?) or would you like to choose another pic on google? Either way is fine with me. :)

@Janice let's give it a bit and see if someone else comes up with an answer since I left a BIG hint there for them.

OK, no one has posted... it is Old Rag in Shenandoah National Park.
Here is the next one (again not my picture) and it bends the rules by being in Eastern Canada, but not far from the US:

Thanks for identifying Old Rag, @Reef&Ruins. I assume you've hiked it? I hiked there a few weeks ago after not having been there since the late 1980s. We had fun both times! It was pretty busy, though, and there were lots of people waiting in line to do the challenging rock scrambles.

I like the photo you've posted. I haven't been in that part of Canada since I was a little girl! Not sure exactly where it is; hopefully some others will join the thread and make some guesses...

Oh my gosh - I was incorrectly assuming it was near Maine, in the Nova Scotia area. But Point Pelee - I live pretty close to there and know people who love going there for the amazing bird migration. I have flown over Point Pelee many times, going back and forth to the East Coast from Michigan. I love the way this looks and will have to get there sometime soon - after Canada opens to non-essential travel...

Ok-, I took the bait and searched for a little. It's Point Pelee National Park. I think. Maybe.... :roflmao:

Or maybe it's the "Southernmost Point of Inhabited Canada"..... ?
You are correct @Titans. It is Point Pelee National Park, specifically the tip. I have been there several times and it is an amazing place to birdwatch in early May so I *HIGHLY* recommend it; I'd continue to go back there each year if I wasn't in school at that time of the year.

@Janice I have never been to Shenandoah I just recognized the picture from an episode of Rock the Park where the two hosts climb Old Rag.
