I'll kick it off with this one I took on January 1, 2012 at Coyote Buttes South. I hope this big swollen, torn up knee of mine is good enough to be doing something similar on January 1, 2013.

p.s. For those of you into camera gear the first two were taken on a Canon Rebel T2i, the second two on a Canon 5D Mk III. Amazing difference in resolution and color!

I think a few of my most recent are my favorites this year. Not from lack of trying, but my landscapes suck, so they're all wildlife.

Totally cookie-cutter shot of Mesa Arch but I was pretty surprised how photogenic the scene actually was. The shots needed almost no post-processing whatsoever. This was taken in January just hours before my catastrophic ankle injury in Arches that is still haunting me.

Thanks blueeyes! Those were taken as I was driving home to San Diego last February and I just stumbled onto that incredible scene. I only had about an hour in Zion before I had to leave unfortunately. It was absolutely breathtaking!

This was taken in January just hours before my catastrophic ankle injury in Arches that is still haunting me.

I've had several of those (I have permanently damaged ligaments) and if you have PT in your health insurance it's a good investment. Strengthening exercises have really helped with ankle stability.
