Bag Night Challenge 2016

Nice.......spent some time in there, more time a little farther west in the Trigo mountains.....lots of old mining relics out there.

Another weekend doing work hikes. I can't say I enjoy solo camping all that much, but I had no complaints about where I camped each night. I managed to get in 12 hikes in two days. I would have liked to get in one or two more but it was a bit too overcast in Capitol Reef today.

Ahhh. I love long trips in the spring.

Annnnnnnnd, we're on the board at last! First bag night of 2016 for us.

It was supposed to be 3 days / 2 nights paddle-camping in Okefenokee NWR, but our bud from Colorado had his flights out of Denver cancelled for the snowstorms, and since we were looking at thunderstorms & lightning in the swamps, we bailed and did an easy 19-mile backpack in Ellicott Rock Wilderness, SC/NC. Here's our campsite on the Chattooga River.

Got out again this weekend. 5 miles in to a primitive site and spent the night surrounded by Florida Scrub pine and saw palmetto.
