So jealous of all of you. I have yet to spend a single night out this year, but that's about to change real soon. We should start a trail miles challenge as well. :)

I'll see if I can find it. It's hard with small kids for me to find opportunities to spend lots of nights away, but I do go hiking several times a week.

At that rate you're going to hit like 80 this year! :wavespin:

I averaged about 70 a year for a lot of years. While the kids were younger I cut way back. Now that they are getting older, I'm starting to get out a little bit more again. But I don't see even 70 ever happening again, let alone 80!

Probably sputter out and barely crack 50 this year :D.

I'd like to hit 50 this year, but my life is starting to get a little too out of balance with all this camping. I'm 3 videos behind, my lawn doesn't get mowed much, and my sleeping bag spends more time in my pack than hanging in the closet. 1st world problems I suppose. :)

I feel your pain, I have 5 kids ranging from 4-15... not everyone wants camp or do some of the outdoor activities I like to do, so I spend most nights sleeping in my bed dreaming of being able to get out more. I do however get out several nights after work to go geocaching right around the midnight hour...

Sounds like you have a pretty good balance going on to me. :) Green mowed lawns are overrated anyway.

Yeah it's rough. My wife and I have an understanding that I am allowed to run off a fair bit in July - September to do my thing, but I try to not be absent as much through the rest of the year. I also take a solo trip somewhere of my choosing in the fall, this year I am going to hit up Zion for 4 days by myself in October, and next year it will be GTNP, or thinking of hitting up Oregon and doing a waterfall tour for a week. Eventually the kids can come, that will great.

I feel your pain. Though I think I've now got my wife convinced to try and take our kids up to Ruth Lake and/or Wall Lake in mid July to introduce them to backpacking for a night or two and a bit of fishing. Their ages range from 2 to 7, so we'll see how that goes.

So far, I've only got 2 nights at Goblin Valley, 2 nights in my hammock in Torrey and a couple more nights in it in my yard.
