10 days in The Maze - April 2019

Also, I know you didn't do the route up Sweet Alice Canyon to the Land of Standing Rocks, but do you by chance know how hard that scramble is supposed to be? I've seen people mention that route (and have come across maps/GPS coords), but have never read a description (or seen photos) from someone who has actually done it. Maybe I should start a new thread for this at some point...

Thank you so much for the beautiful trip description - did this last 25 years ago and looks as beautiful as ever. Thinking of doing this in May. Any intel about water would be great. Did you haul water to your dry camps? Seems like you had a few of them.

Thank you for your kind words ... I really enjoyed this trip

Prior to my trip, I called the Ranger Station at Hans Flat to get the latest water availability information, so I was confident that there would be flowing water at Water Canyon, South Fork Horse Canyon, and Lou's Spring. Although not guaranteed, I believe that these are generally reliable sources.

These 3 sources covered 6 of my 9 nights. For the remaining 3 dry camps, I carried about 4 litres of water each day, Luckily, the temperatures weren't too high, so I didn't need to transport a huge amount.
