Between Banff and Jasper; the White Goat Wilderness Area and the Job Cline PLUZ don't require permits just a canada parks parking pass which is like $20. There are great routes up in there to Michelle Lakes, Cataract Pass, Cloud Buster ect...
I'm doing a big route in the Job Cline this summer...
Here is my annual End of the Year "Magnum Opus" video. These are the best timelapse sequences I've photographed over the course of the year 2023 in North America's "Northwest". Featuring Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Alberta and British Columbia. These were taken as a timelapse...
Great report! If you did this July 14-20, Joey and I saw your foot prints (the only human foot prints we saw that trip) near the conversion of Bonneville toward the Buffalo Plateau. Amazing area. We saw 14 grizzly bears (8 in the basin below Younts/Thorofare) and actually got pushed down valley...
Falken Wildpeak AT3W is the best IMO. All my tires see heavy rough FS road use so I've never had any tire last more than a year, but the falkens have never left me stranded or having to change a tire no matter how bad the road

Glacier Peak Wilderness (what has been said previously), also a good remote spot in the wilderness is going to "Glacier Peak Meadows" use North Fork Sauk trail to gain White Pass then head north toward the massive open glacial basin south of Glacier peak. Also going to Ice Lakes is worth...
Hello everyone,
My wife and I after bailing from the Grand Teton trip went south for a 3 day 2 night in the High Uintas (was originally going to be 4 days 3 nights) but because of road work in wyoming a 4 hour drive took 8 hours. This was our first time here, the only info we had was photos and...
@ 48:19 in the video you can see it. we dropped down a bit then up a gully rock hopping up to Larch Hill Pass, it was just a series of ledges we plopped down one at a time. Once on the other side we actually saw a climbers trail up to the top of the wall where you can avoid the gully
Yeah. Olympic National Park and North Cascades National Park are similair in that regard to you get a cross country permit and you're set for wherever and whenever as long as you don't camp in a designated spot.
Glacier NP looks very stifling with its rules as does Banff and Yoho in Canada.
Hello everyone!
This was originally going to be a 7-8 day backpacking trip that was cut down to 4 days because of the fear of the trip being smoked out as the smell was strong in the air and it was very prevalent off to the Northwest / west...
...Also partially because I was having a hard...
Last time we messaged was August so I'm not currently in touch, I normally wait for him to contact me for trips since I imagine his email/messages are always full.
Hello everyone
This was an awesome backpacking trip in Montana's mighty Bob Marshall wilderness.
7/15/22 - 7/23/22
The goal of the trip was to walk the top of the Chinese Wall. This was a phenomenal bug-free trip with some great friends. Every photo is just a screen grab from my video below...
Hello everyone.
It's been a good minute since I've posted anything here so with my return and some free time in the winter I'm going to post some of my (bigger) trips of the year. This was an 8 day backpacking trip in California's Sierra Nevada mountains. This trip was excellent and I was...
