Southern Absaroka & Thorofare Mountain (Teton/Washakie Wilderness) - July 2023

Great report! If you did this July 14-20, Joey and I saw your foot prints (the only human foot prints we saw that trip) near the conversion of Bonneville toward the Buffalo Plateau. Amazing area. We saw 14 grizzly bears (8 in the basin below Younts/Thorofare) and actually got pushed down valley...

    Backcountry Tire Question

Falken Wildpeak AT3W is the best IMO. All my tires see heavy rough FS road use so I've never had any tire last more than a year, but the falkens have never left me stranded or having to change a tire no matter how bad the road

    Backpacking Grand Teton National Park : Fossil Pass,Fox Creek Pass,Indian Lake,Alaska Basin,Hurricane Pass,Ice Floe Lake,& Snowdrift Lake

Yeah. Olympic National Park and North Cascades National Park are similair in that regard to you get a cross country permit and you're set for wherever and whenever as long as you don't camp in a designated spot. Glacier NP looks very stifling with its rules as does Banff and Yoho in Canada.

Hello everyone! This was originally going to be a 7-8 day backpacking trip that was cut down to 4 days because of the fear of the trip being smoked out as the smell was strong in the air and it was very prevalent off to the Northwest / west... ...Also partially because I was having a hard...
