the olympics are fantastic ! you can get shellfish permits as a visitor and take oyster, clam, mussel up to your daily quota from open bays. just look at tide charts for low tide and whats not closed due to mercury levels or such. we always go to dabob bay at the dosewallips. nothing like fresh...

Heading out for a long weekend in Utah I thought maybe I had made a mistake when I hit snow outside Cedar City. Which continued intermittently, sometimes hail, sometimes rain, all the way to Sandthrax camp. But then I remembered - inclement weather never stops me from being outside, if anything...

Hmm. Very nice to know that west side road is in good shape along the Dirty Devil. I've only been along the east side road, and it sucks.

Lake Mead NRA is my favorite place to tromp close to Vegas, especially in the Muddy Mountains. Bowl of fire is supposed to have petrified camel tracks, but I've never seen 'em. Have found a sharks tooth there though.
