    Coyote Buttes for a Weekend

Went out this past weekend to hike Coyote Buttes. Gotta say it was pretty swell. This report will be mostly photos because I don't know how to add in much about this hike that hasn't been said by myself or others in different trip reports. I got all excited that there was going to be a pond...

In search of Everett Ruess - Davis Gulch

Just some freeze dried food and tuna. So if you ever get stuck out there... The most interesting thing was the keys to a Ford, but not sure where the Ford is sitting.

In search of Everett Ruess - Davis Gulch

Thanks everyone. Yeah, Davis Gulch was awesome to explore. Seriously! Since 2012 it has dropped...a lot. On the point in front of La Gorce arch, someone carved the date from 2012...it's about 20 feet up on the cliff. The one time I liked a non-Native or cowboy inscription.

Permit systems - good or bad?

I only see the issue of inconvenience when it comes to permits. It sucks that I can't just pick up my gear and head out to some places, but I'm happy to be able to see those places because of there is a permit system in place. I'd say education is key to helping other people reach a good land...

In search of Everett Ruess - Davis Gulch

I finally got to search Davis Gulch over Spring Break. Davis Gulch is the last known place that Everett Ruess visited before he mysteriously disappeared in 1934. It's a really cool story, so you're welcome to search for some information; I'll include some bits and pieces throughout this post...
