2014 sure had a lot of adventures. Here's to hoping for plenty more in 2015!

I love this thread! It's so fun to see everyone's favorite memories from the year. I'll start with a pair of shots of Rick and I on the Devils Garden trail in Arches this spring. Rick isn't much of a hiker, and I told him he could pick the trail on the first day, thinking he'd pick something short and easy. I was thrilled when he chose this hike. He'd never done it, and I'd never completed the primitive loop, so we both got to see something new. It was a great day!

I'm going for seconds. Here's another handful of my favorites of the year. Not the best photos, but some of the best memories.

Seeing some of the very first Cottonwood leaves of the season while Wingate Wandering. I'm definitely doing this again in 2014.
IMG_0351.jpg

One of the main reasons I bought a boat this year was to explore Glen Canyon while Lake Powell is at historic lows. It was amazing to see Cathedral In The Desert at the second lowest point since the dam filled. Too bad the beach was already taken. I think I might want to come back and descend this via the Black Trail in 2014. Anyone know what the longest rap is?
IMG_0690.jpg

Perhaps the best part about the many boat camping trips this year was camping with my wife on a regular basis. She isn't totally against backpacking, but it's not really her thing. She loves boat camping.
IMG_3052.jpg

And the next best thing was being able to bring Nikita even though she is solidly in retirement from hiking.
IMG_3165.jpg

She couldn't get enough of it...
IMG_7871.jpg

I'll never forget seeing Audra catch this fish (while I was in the water!).
IMG_5405.jpg

And the sunrise on this campsite...
IMG_0773.jpg

And for the second year in a row, I woke up to an absolutely amazing sunrise on my birthday. You've got big shoes to fill, 2015. :)

My boy just happened to be wearing American Eagle shorts, belt, and (obviously) underwear in this shot and I keep threatening to send it to them for their catalog. which doesn't quite sit well with him LR-sm.jpg

Figure I better get on board with this too. Although it is hard to pick my favorites sometime.

One from Box Lake this year, almost 180 pano.

I loved getting some late storms this year and here is a 4 shot blend.
2.jpg

Shooting up in Star Valley Wyoming this July. That place was scary going it with the birds and bats flying past my head.
3.jpg

I have to throw a big fish picture in too. I didn't catch it, but my cousin slayed them at Fish Lake Memorial weekend. Caught this jigging a kastmaster on 6 pound line. It was 24 pounds. (still shaking my head)

here are a few of my favorites. It wasn't the best year for me and I missed most of the summer because of my bummed knee. Most of my trips were car camping trips or I went paddling somewhere on local reservoirs. Not being able to hike also helped me to shift my focus on other details while taking pictures.
