Wind Rivers, Sept. 2013

I believe having the debate is healthy because it shows people care about their public lands.

As far as hindsight on this trip, I still don't see it in a rosy light. Normally I find the good even in misery but this outing was really discouraging. Hopefully my next Winds trip will have a more uplifting narrative.

I'm sorry to hear that your trip was a bust! It's such a bummer when that happens. I've had several disappointing trips due to weather, but the only one where there weren't at least breaks in the weather was a Uintas trip, where my family and I were waiting out storms in our tents for 3 days. Just awful! It was supposed to be a 5 day trip, but things weren't looking like they would improve, and we couldn't bear the thought of another day in the tents, so we finally bailed.

I too was excited to see a new Winds report and in September which is what we are planning for this year. But what a tough break for you guys. When it rains like it did not much gear can withstand that not to mention your patience. Good report and pics nonetheless. Hope our trip is a bit dryer. And hope your future trips are too.
Thanks.for post.
