It's been a banner year (well, two weeks) for Claret Cup at the Three Peaks just outside Cedar City, Utah.

I did an early morning hike up to Buffalo Peak this morning. It's a super easy hike, but it puts on quite the show of wildflowers. The Yellow Balsam Root flowers were out in force.

It's been an exceptional year for flowers in the Capitol Reef area, now the show is moving upstairs to the mountains.

Someone else will have to name them properly. Jared has told me the name of them, more than once, but I've forgotten (again...). I'm going with PPF's for now. From Blue Mass, in the Kern mountains, Nevada, last weekend.

Hiking in the Bannock Mountain Range North of Malad (Elkhorn area). My son and I did an nine mile loop Friday the 13th. We had hoped to make the close to 10,000 foot Elkhorn Peak. Unfortunately we fell short. Spent the afternoon with my son and lots of nice scenery so it was still a great day...
