According to the 2019 trail status report this hike is now 80% sun exposure due to the Sprague Fire. I can't imagine that!Nice! Stinkin Lincoln. Did you make it to the lake? One of the most overgrown, secluded trails in the park. And what a steep climb to start. The lake is beautiful though.
Pics from there kinda freak me out. I tried to get into Hidden Canyon at the start of a trip in the first week of March 2011, after what I think was record snow. Turned back when the trail was completely blocked by a pile of snow covering the trail like \. Had to go rent snowshoes later that day.
Love all that slickrock! This week we spent 4 days hiking in The Needles, Canyonlands with 3 nights camping at Squaw flat CG under the full moon. It was super bright at night, with just 1/2 hour of stargazing. Hiking was amazing, as always. Here are some trail photos:

Very hot and sandy walk, but incredible with all the grass backlit. Rick is out in the distance on the trail.
