Today, I hiked up on West Rim trail to the Spring near campsite #2 in a snow storm. The last mile was just snowshoes, but everything else worked fine with boots and Katoola's. And the new backpack is great because I can strap my snowshoes on it. Definitely another fun day out in the snow

Nice @scatman , new kilt? Your legs look scratched up, what happened?

Wednesday: Strong winds, so we hiked at lower elevations in East Saguaro NP. Here is Rick next to one of my favorite Saguaro:

Friday: So much water in Sabino canyon it was overflowing a few bridges. It felt great to get the boots off and walk through the cold water in the middle of the hike. Some teenagers were swimming in the pools upstream and the girls were screaming super loud. We understood better after being bare feet, the water was frigid! We saw fantastic reflections everywhere in the canyon too:

Sunday: Rick on the Hugh Norris trail to Wasson Peak, the highest peak in the Tucson Mountain range. The trail is a ridge trail within the West Saguaro NP and it has spectacular views all along:

I scratched my leg setting up for that shot. The top is kind of rocky and when I knelt down to focus, I scratched it on a low lying rock.

Yes, it is a new kilt, though I've had it for six months, this is the first time I have worn it. I've had nothing but trouble with it since I ordered it back in the spring.

Beautiful photos - it's great to see this fascinating scenery!

yes, go someday, if you haven’t been yet. Fantastic hiking all over Tucson.

It got really fascinating this morning when I picked up my backpack (on the floor inside (!) our Airbn) to go hiking and a tiny scorpion crawled away
I whacked it with a shoe, we have never seen one before. A memorable Christmas morning in the desert ....

I snowshoed up to Specimen Ridge today in Yellowstone. Definitely a workout in the snow but it was amazing.
It definitely warmed me up on this 14 degree day

I never fail to be surprised how much you heat up 'shoeing. Looks awesome up there.

I ski ad snowshoe almost every day just in a fleece and a vest, even though it is only about 15 F outside. I have such an intense internal furnace, I'm always so warm. As soon as I pause I do add an additional layer, in most cases my down sweater. Definitely enough for all these outings out here.
I loved it up there, I always wanted to see the difference between summer and now

Beautiful, but chilly day at White Sands NP in New Mexico today, lots of dramatic clouds and gusty winds just after the front went through. The gypsum sand was hard packed, very easy to hike on and we quickly got away from the crowds. But it sounds like @Yvonne felt warmer today than we did :). Here is a couple of iPhone photos from today.
