In July I had the great pleasure of hitting Pfeifferhorn with my son and gazing over at the broads fork twins on the cottonwood ridge.

In August I had the great pleasure of going up red baldy from the east ridge and gazing over at White baldy and Pfeifferhorn from the east side.

In September I had the chance to visit the west broads fork twin via the Robinson Variation where I had the chance to gaze at the thunder ridge.

Then this week still September I enjoyed a visit to south thunder where I could gaze back at Pfeifferhorn and red baldy from the west.

Awesome, Love it - Fall in the Needles. The La Sal Mountain fall pictures are beautiful.
@Scott Chandler - you made it to Druid Arch again without micro spikes. This time it looks a lot safer! ;)
Scott showed me the way he got around the icy slope 3 winters ago..........my feelings about it were conflicted. (pride, "got to be kidding me!", how is heredity involved is this type of stuff as I know I have done crazy stuff when alone to get from point A to B).) I just said to myself "it must have looked like a reasonable route with snow on it." You got to love his determination and desire not to be thwarted when so close to his goal.

That Druid Arch winter trip report is one of my favorite and I read it 3 times and ended right on the edge of my chair every time!
"The apple didn't fall from the tree".... I love reading your reports too and it's awesome that you get to enjoy the fall together in such a beautiful area.
Enjoy!

I usually prefer to be behind the camera lens vs. in front of it -- there are bound to be several pictures of me out there on the web anyway so what is one more? This year I took Dad, Brother, and Brother in Law out to Yellowstone for their first visit. Which one am I? The shirt should give it away. ;) The lady in the truck is no relation :) .

They acted like they enjoyed everything -- we had a great day hike of Cascade Canyon.

What is this survey you speak of?
One of my jobs as a volunteer for UOL is to do an annual survey of some of their conserved properties looking to assess the condition of the land, whether there have been any inadvertent or intended degradations of the quality of the environment. Most times my wife, who also volunteers, find no real new impacts except for increasing use on trails for the properties that have them and a steady increase in the coverage by noxious and invasive weeds. But sometimes we discover new construction by adjacent landowners or developers, new informal structures and fire pits, etc. and in those cases we report them in and a UOL employee addresses them. My wife and I then create an annual report which is basically a health report of that property. We do this for about 6 properties near Parley's Summit. @scatman and @Dave have assisted me in the past and for that I am grateful. UOL appreciates the effort as well and has a need for more volunteers. I encourage you to PM me for more details if interested.
