What a beautiful day for a hike here in Salt Lake City today. Sunny with highs in the low 60s they say.
I wanted to put @Rockskipper's theory to the test today as I planned on hiking the Avenues Twin Peaks. Remember that her theory goes something like this - "That he starts off with others joining him for the hike, but he ends up all alone at the summits." - or something like that.
Normally, I drive to where I can access the Shoreline Trail to do this hike, but today I started from my house. I had five other happy-go-lucky hikers along for the trek.
Up above 11th Avenue for this shot, heading for the access point to the Bonneville Shoreline Trail

And this is where the first three leave me - actually running away at full speed. Can you believe it?

The Dude Benchmark to the north
Some snow left from Thursday's storm
The best red patch along the route
Love the golden grass, and the shots where it looks as if the trail drops off the end of the earth.
Grandview Peak has some snow
Sulphur Buckwheat still hanging on
On the nouth summit. Do I smell?
No, I smell like a rose. I can't imagine why the abandoned me?
Antelope Island's Frary Peak in the distance
On the south summit, enjoying an Elliott Apple that I picked up at the Farmers Market this morning before heading off on this hike
Some toadflax soaking up some morning sunshine on my way back down.
Mount Van Cott in the foreground with Mount Wire in the distance. I think I'll try a lollipop loop from my house next weekend that
incorporates both of these peaks somehow. It will give me another chance to disprove @Rockskipper. Now
it is off to donate a pint of blood.

No Blood?The old man took a spill today at the top of City Creek. Luckily, the only thing injured was his pride.
How do we know that event was not staged? The ground looks mysteriously undisturbed. . . even if it is paved.
