@scatman , just catching up on these posts and saw your brief history... Nice to have several fellow Aggies on here!

Lame or not, I sport this quite often more car camping and in the shoulder seasons. Like kilts they were made for the cold of the outdoors.
This was last weekend.

That's sick.

lol :)
Just my office

He means, I think, that is spectacular, @Yvonne! Did you melt your shoes and your tripod's shoes?

I barely melt my shoes, only when I wear cheap sneakers. But shoes do wear out fast because the entire surface on the hike in and out is made of silica glass. Of course, I do step on hotter spots to get my shots, but not for long. Even with the crust cooled off, it's still about 1100F below.
When it oozes to the surface it is about 1600F
I had to replace my tripod rubber shoes only once, but wear out my hiking shoes every 4-6 weeks

@Yvonne What are the little white dots on the photo? They almost look like constellations.

They are just stars peeking through the clouds.
I was shooting around 3:30am in the morning last week with the full moon out

We invited this guy to join us on our hike to the top of Grandeur Peak today. But if you can believe it, he wasn't having any of it.

On top of Grandeur today with the kids - is that a smile on my son's face? I'll have to have a talkin' with him @Bob .

@Artemus , I worked just north of Kelso Dunes for about 8 months just out of college. I loved that place, and just recently went looking for some photos but seem to have lost them in the move back to Montana several years ago. Thanks for posting that. Sounds like a great place for a Christmas camp.

Ummmmm....yes I have a favorite pair of yoga capris I like to hike in...
