Sandhill cranes are pretty cool. They sound positively prehistoric. Gotta be careful with Nebraska though, there's some sketchy characters that live there!

He, he…. The Sandhill Cranes are amazing- such a cool experience to watch them. And wow, they’re pretty vocal….!

I caught some pretty incredible mammatus clouds over Mount Sheridan back in August of '22.

Lucky I caught them in the picture since that was the only 'catching' that happened on the lake that evening.

The sandhill cranes were off my radar until two encounters last year, when I learned from a birding friend that there are some that summer in southern Alberta, and others that are migrating through on their way north.
Might as well throw in a blue hour photo, this one from camp near Escalante:

That is a great gig, and those a some great shots that make my hands cold thinking about them.
