This Year's Thanksgiving weekend trip took us to Capital Reef and up into Boulder Mountain. There were some chilly nights but we had some fun times hiking during the day and gathering around the campfire at night. My cousin Mandy came with us, as well as our friend Cody and his dad, Ron. It was foggy for most of the trip and fog is very unusual in this part of the country so it was kind of exciting.

We wanted to do the Upper Muley Twists hike in Capitol Reef. Unfortunately the snow made us turn back early, but we still really enjoyed it.

The fog was out of control. This is looking from boulder mountain across to the La Sals in the distance.

I know just what you are talking about because we were there checking out some unnamed canyons that looked good on Google Earth. The fog was very interesting and I enjoyed the unique look, but it wasn't the best situation for exploring. I needed to be able to see what was ahead. I was trying out my new lens and when I would pixel peep my shots they were not quite tack sharp....which had me worked up until I realized that it was just the fog. However, it was pretty to look at.
