A couple of Mondays ago there was a traffic stopping sunrise. Not backcountry, but on my morning walk I saw several cars pull over and take photos with their phones, and some who tried to while driving...
Cannot blame them. I was close to home, so I ran to get my camera and took this.
Well, compared to Yvonne's shots, this is pretty mundane, but taken from one of my fav places. I've spent over a year camped in this spot, literally, in 3 month stretches, working for the BLM. La Sal sunrise (iPad):
This isn't that great of a photo, but it has fond memories of camping north of Moab in December at about zero degrees. Mt. Tuk sunrise (with a dirty sensor):
sunrise last week while scouting some lava flows way in the backcountry
in the middle left of the images is some volcanic gas visible, it sometimes can be so thick that you need a respirator up there
the past weekend I was on another scouting trip to the new lava flows in the backcountry when this nice sunrise happened
If interested I can post a few trip reports on all these trips
This was this morning. Still not backcountry, but the mileage I lay down almost everyday keeps me sane and fit for the trips that are upcoming.
This tree may have been in a previous post. I really like this old gambel oak.
