“This area only received about 3 inches of snow ... 140 miles to the south, Albany received 22+ inches of snow.”

Yah, actually we received 26” at our house in a day. our plow guy got repeatedly stuck along our 400ft driveway, (we found out in The Canyonlands when we had sporadic signal). I was told he tore his transmission, but he was plowing the day after- so let’s hope everything was ok!!!
Yesterday 2 trucks were stuck and buried deep in the snow off the driveway and a Jeep came to pull them out. We have (or had) a crazy amount of driveway markers, so it must have been bad.

Our mailbox got whacked- but at least the deep snow keeps it upright for now, I have been told.
Our neighbors teenagers just cleared in front of our garage. That was a giant storm, I believe the same storm that dropped a lot of rain in Southern Utah.

Rick reflected in icy potholes in The Needles last Sunday. Lots of snow on La Sal mountains and tons of contrails.

We hiked into Watertown Canyon (SW of Denver) the day before Thanksgiving. A few days earlier on a much warmer day a huge amount of Bighorn sheep were down on the access road, as usual around that time of the year, but on this frigid day we only saw a few bighorn sheep. But it was nice and quiet, so we enjoyed it:

Great shot of three brothers. I've often thought of venturing up this canyon past the sand bench.

I live up my snow addiction a bit more and went for a quick overnighter to Bryce Canyon. One of my friends works in the park, so I can always stay at his place which is cool.

And after more than 6 years, I finally came really close to recreate my Snow Tree shot of 2013. Not as much snow as back then and no beautiful snowdrifts, but everything was socked in fog, mist , and snow again when I got there and waited for the right conditions.

Terrific! I love your beautiful photos and looked at your website a couple days ago. I loved the 2013 shot of this tree on your site, and it's great to see this version of it. Must be magical to see the snowy scenes at these spectacular places that most of us only see in warmer weather!

thanks, I actually have to update the website a bit. School kept me busy so it's on my list.
I have to admit, I love snow and winter and prefer visiting all these places in winter. It is a whole new world.
I can't wait to get more images soon.

It's been an amazing start to the season at our local xc ski area (above)
There is enough of a snowpack in the foothills now (doesn't always happen) for some light backcountry skiing away from the groomed trails. (below)
