Rescue Creek - Yellowstone National Park - June 3, 2023

I wonder if the conditions were just right for an explosion of ticks in that area. Why else would they only be a problem in that area of the Park? When I was there 15 years ago in early June with Sheila and the kids, we had no problems whatsoever with them. Of course, Bob says that it is normal for that area to have tick issues this time of year.
Yep everything north of the Lamar valley in spring

Glad to see you didn't get hammered by the weather too bad. We were out there that entire week, and got lucky with only some light rain most days.

I'll try to get reports up from Slough Creek & the Blacktail to 1R1 trip this weekend, if I get time to sort through photos.

looking forward to your report.

I asked Midjourney to come up with a photo of the Rockskipper Gang, and this is what I got (kind of a journey into the Uncanny Valley):

Looks like some stragglers have joined the gang. Is one of those riders you Skipper? Well I say better late than never. :D My horse seems to be the most disinterested of the group. :)

I lost my shades on Grandeur today Skipper. :( There is no Scat without the shades. :scatman:

Loved the pics and report..Have to say I was a bit frightened in th first half of the pics..no kilts in any of them…thank heavens th kilt showed up in th second half!

Since the forecast called for heavy rain, I was afraid to wear the kilt the first day, opting instead to keep the rain paints on just in case.

BTW @scatman, there were plenty of wildlife photos at the Slough Creek Trailhead on our way in and out, photographing badgers.

Don't know if the badgers will hang out until your next trip, but if you have a moment and you're in the area, may be worth a visit...
