Shouldn't Sage be carrying her own kibble? We had a pack for one of our previous dogs, although....she had a habit of rolling in cow pies- the fresher the better! Maybe she was trying to tell us something?
 
Out of curiosity, what springs were dry in Grand Gulch that dissuaded you?

She has in the past but I'd honestly rather carry that bit of weight than deal with her having a backpack on the whole time. She's a small pup and doesn't eat that much.

That and I really like my dog. Largely why I haven't done anything in Grand Gulch.
 
I talked to Tom Jones about it this afternoon. He doesn't believe the BLM gave the thumbs up. I also sent an email to a contact in BLM law enforcement in the area. Waiting for a response.
What did you find out?
