Yeah, the a7s will do 4k, but not internally. You need another $2000 for the atmos shogun add-on to record the 4k.

Agreed, we shouldn't be seeing these issues on cameras in this price range. That being said, it's amazin what we'll put up with for a small form factor and incredible imaging.
 
With the new announcements of the Sony A7R II, my decision just got easier. That'll be my next camera. internal image stabilization, internal 4k video recording, full frame, and the improved ergos of the a7 II.
 
Looks like it takes care of the issues that I am working around, no internal stabilization and shutter shake. A much more thought out body. Gotta save some pennies.....
