Funny you mention the Tourist Creek drainage - I've just been mapping out some spots I want to include on my next trip out there. Maybe going up Tourist Creek to Big Tourist Lake (or maybe Flagstone) and Sourdough Glacier. The worst part in that area is getting up past the 9,600' topo line - after that you just need a high tolerance for rock hopping.I thought it looked like the Winds (but I think that about a lot of pictures) but couldn't place it. Always wanted to get up in that country around Lost Pipe Lakes, the upper Tourist Creek drainage, etc. Looks rough as hell though.
Thornton Lakes. Taken from Trappers Peak?
Yep! You got it!Thornton Lakes. Taken from Trappers Peak?
Hint: Yellowstone National Park.
Well that sure looks like Broad Creek! Ha@TractorDoc has a very similar photo in his trip report here.
Sure is!Well that sure looks like Broad Creek! Ha
This is in western Montana, which may come as no surprise.
Different range. This is on the CDT.Spanish Peaks area
Got em, basically a pinpoint location too! I'd expect nothing less. I only did an overnight route through there but it was some of my favorite stuff I've done in Montana. The Pintlers, right where the CDT drops out of the high country headed NOBO. This is also the place where the Butte and Anaconda routes split off.
All yours, sir!Ice lakes?
