Yep, it is a high valley in Banff/Jasper region. I'll narrow it down a little further. It is in Banff National Park

Yep! that is the spot. The photo was taken just after we came over Badger Pass.

I just searched the name of this drainage on BCP and got way too many results to merit giving another hint.

I'm gonna take a guess here... best match I could find was this bowl, which overlooks the Yellowstone drainage and is just over the divide from the north Buffalo fork, between tri county lake and Woodard canyon

I think that might be this one... too far north (and a little west) for the one in question.
