Guess the spot

Scoags, Now not this and is not the head of Jay Creek. Jay Creek is near Two Ocean Pass and some distance away. But a good guess. Look at my clues this is close to and a day's hike away from the head of Thorofare Creek.

Marmot, Yes it is! You got it! Yes this is right near Thorofare Mtn. Looking East right down the drainage of Yount's Creek and the nearby area. Go For It!

The Absaroka Crest at the head of Thorofare Creek is a nice rolling ridge and easily accessible. Remember in the head area of Thorofare Creek, there was a good route branching off and heading up to the ridgeline. Then from there it is an easy descent to that saddle one sees in the left side of the photo, then the descent down into Yount's Creek itself. Again hope to be back in here next summer.

Well Marmot, this is a big shot in the dark. Noticed that this is in a place that had a forest fire previously. And by some of the plants, it is not in the Greater Yellowstone Country do think ...

... So is this in the Lost and Goose Creek Area, in the Lost Creek Wilderness in Colorado?

This is not the Lost and Goose creek drainage, though I do see the resemblance.
Hint: This area burned in 2013.

Tuolumne River?
It's crazy how huge that burn is along the Tuolumne.
Looking at the fire history map for the Sierras always makes me sad. At this rate it doesn't seem like there will be much left in the way of forest for much longer out there.

West Fork Fire near South Fork CO burned in 2013. So that is my guess but I have no idea about the exact location.
West Fork Of the San Juan near Rainbow Hot Springs ?
