That part of the Lamar River you're thinkin about (just past the picnic area)has lots of huge boulders in the main channel.

My guess would be the mouth of Provo canyon or Ogden canyon?

I want to go there too! Fabulous. Even if it is not Capital Reef.... In fact I HAVE been to the Valley of Fire. Can you pinpoint it for us Seldom Seen?
