Guess the spot

Well, "upper" to me is above the Golden Cathedral - probably inaccurately. But it took me one failed attempt to descend it coming from the Hole in the Rock, road which is a good distance away, for me to self-label it upper :) The second successful attempt is while I had the flu to it really seemed "upper". Totally worth it though to rappel through the Cathedral.

On the first attempt as I stepped down into the narrows this little Midget Faded was blocking the way. It all went downhill from there.

Sleuthing for an image @Udink won't deduce right away.....

Toughie! I can't even narrow it down to a range! North Cascades, Olympics, Sawtooths, maybe Wind Rivers. Gorgeous shot though. =)

Wow....it has a striking resemblance to a great lake in the Sawtooth's

Well, I am flabbergasted no one recognized Titcomb Basin reflected off one of the lakes at the south end. So, here is your next puzzle. Identify where I am standing or the drainage draining the bottom right corner of the shot.

Haha. Me too! I've been to the Winds a bunch of times but I've never actually been into Titcomb Basin. For some reason it's always turned me off because it seems like everyone and their dog are heading there. Kinda dumb, I know, because I know it's awesome. One day...=)

Well I can see everyone is out in the backcountry for the summer if a Titcomb Basin shot and San Rafael Reef puzzle are getting no guesses.....

Somewhere around here? :)

My initial thought was the lower part of Black Canyon of the Gunnison. But with the road (or tracks) on the right I don't think that's correct.

No, not Black Canyon, but it's almost directly north of there. There's a highway on the left and railroad on the right.
