Guess the spot

Not Francs, but climbed it the next day. Though it was a few hours to drive between the two. This peak isn't above 13k. I thought that my last hint would be too obvious, guess not if you are not into lists.

Using the '23' list clue I found out! Highest point in each county. And since we knew it was in the Absarokas and not Francs, well, there were only one more on the list:

Washakie Needles.

Let's stay with the montane.

In 2009 we rode our bikes from near Seattle to Moab, mostly along the Rockies. What's the name of this range?

Really? Too hard? Okay, clues:

In Idaho.
The gateway is a small town of mayby 60 people. No ski areas here!

Well, I was going to guess the north end of the Sawtooth range at an overlook there but I am not sure.

Langutah got it, although the winning post was a bit ambiguous.

Sawtooth Range, near Stanley and far enough away from Sun Valley etc to be a thing of its own. And it is indeed the overlook.

Yes Windies, No Tetons. Wrong drainage in the Windies though. I'm looking for what drainage we are looking up - to the north, from the south. And that is not mammalian blood in the water. It was blood red. Some kind of algae I am guessing. I have never seen such a large an outbreak or as blood red before or since.

Hint: (you still have to name the drainage)...
Geikie, Raid, Bonneville, and Midsummer's Dome all standing proud left to right.
