Guess the spot: Utah Edition

It's the slanty butte in the distance. For some reason that butte is stuck in the mind.

What is the name of the overlook this picture was taken from?

Buck Canyon Overlook?

Edit: actually that one looks more head on into the canyon. Maybe White Rim Overlook? Def on the East side.

Yes Brendan. On the Hayduke Trail.
That spot is a fun challenge to find. Navigating overland cross the red benches and having to be in that one, exact spot. The guidebook isn't kidding when it says that this is the only navigable entrance to the canyon

Ooooohhh. Escalante Style Canyon (Glenn Canyon Group), but that isn't the Kaiparowits, Looks like Holmes or Ellsworth. I've been in most of the Trachyte canyons, and didn't get that close of a view. Going south....

Judging by the ripples showing, I'm pretty sure it's one of the Ticaboo canyons. Southern portion of the South Fork of Ticaboo?

Nice, I don't recall the exact spot but between the middle and south forks while trying to find a route through the maze back over to the south fork from pelshiki fork.

That's the place I've been looking at going in the late shoulder season for the past few years. I'll make it out there when my kid (soon to be plural) is/are a little older. For now, the off season is just that. Off.

Name the canyon.
