Guess the spot: Utah Edition

Does this require a permit to dayhike?
This hike does not require a permit. Much information on the hike can be found here https://www.thewave.info/YellowRockCode/Map.html. We found the hike to be longer than indicated but we explored off trail and all over yellow rock and fooled around in the river coming back. We camped at the White House campground and drove over to the Paria movie set and hiked out from there. Let me know if I can help in any other way. For day hiking this is as good as you could want. Not one of my better photos but this is sort of your approach to Yellow Rock looking back at it.

Do you mean this is from Yellow Rock looking back at the trailhead at the movie set?
Yes I believe this is looking in the general direction of the trailhead, although you cannot see it in this photograph. You will have gained somewhere in the area of 700 ft. of elevation from trailhead to top of Yellow Rock. The trailhead would probably be down in the little v you see in the right center of the photo but I am not sure of that. I was just trying to show the type of terrain on the route after you climb up from river level and approach Yellow Rock

Just for perspective you can just see the top of Yellow Rock sticking out to the right of the hoodoo on top of the ridge and that I believe is Brigham Hill on the other side of Cottonwood Canyon Road to the right of that. This photo is taken on a different day at the top of the road that goes down to the trailhead and is well above and to the right of the trailhead. The Paria is running behind the ridge in the middle and Yellow rock
Hope this is helpful and not information overload. You should really do this hike and give us a legitimate Trip Report! We did it mid March and that was perfect weather. I imagine a couple of weeks from now would be equally nice. Wish I could come out and do it with you. DL

Is it white canyon from that spot along the road?

Lllewellyn or 50 mile canyon? No idea what the exact spot the photo was taken from however.
