Guess the spot: Maps Edition

I've been mentally traversing railroad lines all morning, and I can't come up with it.

By way of a hint, is it in the Pacific Time Zone?

Hey Ben,
How far from Death Valley is it?

Too short for Moffat Tunnel. Looks like a treeless area.

Heh. Are we actually looking at a stretch of railway track that was abandoned close to 40 years ago?? More specifically, the former Milwaukee Road line between the Columbia River and Ellensburg?

that's the one. it's been converted to a rail trail called the John Wayne Pioneer, and runs from the Cascades to the Idaho border, except the bridge across the Columbia is closed due to disrepair. the initial spot was the Boylston Tunnel. @Kishenehn , you're up.

Here's one for Ben ... if it turns out to be a little obscure, I'll swap it out in a couple days:

Name the pass, or the railroad, or ... pretty much anything.

That's the right idea, but this pass is farther east.

Interesting trivia about this tunnel: because of the switchbacks on either side of the pass, trains always ran through the tunnel backwards.
