Rockskipper is right. It's the road back to civilization after you hike the Santa Cruz Trek in the Cordillera Blanca of Peru. I didn't include it with the idea that anyone would immediately recognize it--but because it still gives me the willies. The road goes over a pass that is more than 15,000 feet high (snowing when we were there ) and there is a lovely monument about two miles down from the pass, where a bus with 11 people went over the edge a few years ago, killing all on board.

It gets your attention.

OK, this one's a little different. Name the border crossing. I'm in the US about to enter Canada. Coming back across, I was the only car in my line that didn't get searched. I think it was because I had three dogs sticking their noses out the windows.
