It’s warm and sunny so we decided to take a shortish hike to Jockeybush Lake, 3.2 miles r/t and 350’ elevation gain to the lake. Several hunters had parked at the trailhead but we didn’t see any of them but we did chat with a young couple who were camping at the lake. Trail was wet/muddy and the waterfalls were going strong.
I think this was part of an old homemade barrel stove.
Jockeybush Lake from our picnic spot about a quarter way down the lake
Heading out to the trailhead
The trail crosses the stream further down but rock hopping wasn’t possible so we found this downed tree to cross.
A few days ago this area got about five inches of snow. All gone now! It was about 70 degrees at the lake.
