Went for a walk to Butterfield Peak in the Oquirrh Mtn. range on Sunday. Took a shot of the last of the colors up high looking towards Lowe Peak.

Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area, backpacked the Blue Heron Loop on the Kentucky side. One more week to peak, winter chill is only a few days away...

Capitol Reef is going off now!


I actually had to darken the yellow on the main tree because it was so bright it didn't look realistic, but it is.

So far the fall leaf report for Southern Utah is as follows-South 89-gone. North 89 (past Circleville) nice colors. Kolob-past peak. Moab area, just starting. Capitol Reef-peaking. Will check out Zion tomorrow.

In the Upper Paria region it was seemingly super random. Two cottonwoods right next to each other, one no leaves, one yellow. I'll post a few when I get home later.

Gorgeous shot and thanks for the report! The colors in Buckhorn Wash in the Swell were close to peak on Sunday in case anyone is interested.

From a few weeks ago in Southern Ontario. Was a blend of odd conditions, lotsa green in the trees and a bit of orange/red on the ground. Still wasn't a bad day to be thumping through the bush.
