Escalante Canyons conditions update Sept. 12th

Michael, that is you next year when you show up and rent your Rubicon :)

That would be very nice, Art. But I'm not sure. It's to far for me - out and back SLC/Escalante.
I'm back in Utah May/June 2014. :)

Just got back from hiking Harris Wash and Neon Canyon. I was amazed at the amount of destruction that happened from the flooding. We were the only people in the area between Harris and Fence Canyon for several days. The Harris Road was not bad, but has couple places that would be pretty rough going in a 2WD. I would not go in with a 2WD. The Egypt road also has a few places that are pretty wild. Again in a 2WD sedan it would be pretty rough going, but you might be able to get in.

did the condition at Harris Road deteriorate? It was good in mid October, only 2Wd needed.
There were some wash outs but nothing really bad and we could easily negotiate around the washed out spots.

There were a few spots closer to the trail head that were pretty washed out, and would be interesting getting through with 2WD, but I am sure you'd be able to get in there still with 2WD. Just be careful.

Think the Boulder Airstrip to Death Hollow/ Highway 12 will get any attention? Already planning on going back in June next summer, hope its intact.

Attention as in grading/repairs? Nope. It's such a short road and so rocky up near the strip, I doubt they're worried about improving it. If it's bad you can always park near the highway and walk an extra mile or so.
