2017 Total YTD: 9 Nights
Dec 30-Jan 2 > Bears Ears National Monument > 1 Night (in 2017)
Feb 3-5 > St. George boat cleaning trip > 2 Nights
Feb 10-12 > Colton Guard Station, Uintas > 2 Nights
Mar 10-11 > Hurricane Cliffs > 1 Night
Apr 21-24 > The Colorado River in Glen Canyon > 3 Nights
I took the new boat out for the first time this weekend to support the Glen Canyon Institute's Rendezvous. We planned to launch in Farley but getting the boat to the water there was tricky so we ended up putting in at Hite without doing any water testing of the boat first. The Colorado was flowing in excess of 25k CFS and the current was strong. We floated with the group to Farley then spent a night on the lake and another night right on the shore of the river on our way back up to Hite. Lots of nervous moments on this trip, but so worth it. This is where we camped last night on the free flowing Colorado River in Glen Canyon.
