Had four more nights planned for the next two weekends. But, am in the throes of some serious pinched nerve in the back agony. Doc says I have another two or three weeks of joy to endure before it will likely subside. Driving and walking are two of the normal activities that crank the excruciating dial up to full blast - just driving home from Antelope Island today was about more than I can take. Probably going to have to sit around the house for awhile... Had been thinking I'd probably hit 70 nights this year, but now thinking no way.

Thanks for the 'get well'. Would not wish this on hardly anyone. This is what people that hurt kids should feel for the rest of their lives maybe, but short of that, can't really think of anyone else I'd put it on...

Dave, get well. You have miss to miss work? Crickey. Not making 70 is gonna hurt.
 
Art, I'm not planning on missing any work. There are some tasks I'll have to not do, but I'd rather be miserable there than miserable moping around the house every day. The drive there and back is mercifully short.

Sorry to hear on your back, Dave. I've been going through some of the same lately. My sciatic nerve got pinched down pretty tight for a few days last week. I'm sure your doc has a plan, but for what it's worth, I found a youtube video with some stretches for lower back/sciatic problems that did wonders. It still hurts, but it helped a ton. Last week I could barely move and I hiked at least 6 or 8 miles this past weekend.

Two more bag nights this weekend at Cottonwood Wash in the San Rafael Swell. This time I just threw my bag on the ground--no tent--for both nights despite coyotes howling and cougar and bear sign in the canyon.
