Was able to get out again, finally. Sure felt good to get out of the house. Even if it hurt like hell. MRI this week, with the possibility of potentially "season ending" surgery to follow. We'll see... Been a good year though.

It was a bad year for me as I missed out most of the summer due to my knee injury.
And after strenuous hiking in Zion for 3 weekends in a row my knee is toast again. Time for some rest and knee brace again, boo :-(

Nothing yet. Meeting with the surgeon later this morning though. But I'm optimistic that I'm going to avoid the knife yet again. Really responding well to the steroids.

I need to refocus my trips for the next few years as it is not going to be better or will improve.
That knee is done. As long as I still can do a few trips I'm okay. It also means more car camping in the future. I'm not ready yet for another big knee surgery.
But so far I got at least one camp night each month. I will get one more in December


Anyway, good luck with your back, I press both thumbs for you that you can avoid surgery.

Fix the knee ....... meniscus? Wife suffered from that after a ski injury for 5 years. Finally got it fixed and said it's almost like new and shouldn't have waited. Doc also said if had waited much longer would have been looking a at a replacement instead.... So don't wait if it's fixable..

there is no fix other than a new knee. The cartilage is almost completely gone and the torn meniscus isn't helping too.
Was told almost ten years ago that this day would come and I have to deal with that at some point early in my life, but I'm still not ready for it.
