Younts Peak (Teton/Washakie Wilderness) - July 2022

Wow! Congrats on both the successful summit and such amazing grizzly sightings. Looks like the kind of country and terrain where it can make viewing possible while being able to avoid close encounters with grizzlies a good bit safer than perhaps some other areas out there and likewise, terrain where bears in turn might feel less threatened by sighting or smelling any humans in the distance because they have so much room to easily move in other directions as well. Just glad that bears don't tend to hunt in packs...at least that we know of so far. Who knows...maybe in seeing them mingle in larger numbers like that, they'll evolve some ideas to do so. But let's hope not, or else...

Beautiful shots!!! Thanks for sharing.

Younts has long been a goal of mine following a trek into the Thorofare and Hawk's Rest area several years back. Hadn't considered a route with either Wall or Crescent previously, but you have my rethinking my approach.

Took me 3.5 years, but I finally got the video for this trip done. Yeh? Anyways, I did what I could with the footage since I wasn't at my best on this trip as you know.

Also I think I mentioned this to you on our last trip, but there were actually 16 bears we encountered on this trip. Noticed a 3rd mother and cub in the bowl below Younts.

Those bear videos turned out better than I expected! Watching those 7 (or rather 9) bears in the bowl below Younts is an all-timer for sure. Nursing mama bear was pretty awesome, too.
