Today we went farther north to paddle a section of the Racquette River that we hadn’t done before. A little bit of sun soon turned into mostly cloudy but no rain. We did see some other paddlers but for the most part we had the river to ourselves. Found a couple designated campsites that looked intriguing.
Lots of reflections
one of the western high peaks off in the distance
oh look, another beaver dam! This dam was built to hold back water in a side pond
With Jackie in the photo to show the size of the dam
Large beaver house along the river
7.5 miles round trip with one rest stop along the way. Nice leisurely paddle. Water level was above normal.
