Congrats on getting your sites for your trip. You are going to have a great time. You know, it's not very difficult to follow the Yellowstone River, and then Thorofare Creek, from 6Y6 to 6T1, if you are interested in some off-trail adventure. Did you decide on popping down to Bridger Lake while you're back in there?
I've heard that people travel off trail along that general stretch of river, I might consider traveling down that way.

I definitely plan on heading down to Bridger Lake, since that will be such a short day.

Did anyone have any luck with the general on sale?

I managed to get a couple of single nighters for Slough Creek May 30, and a Yellowstone River site near Hellroaring June 1. We'll be camped at Madison the rest of that week.

Yeah - I grabbed the sites I needed. Only one I was slightly worried about was for a quick family trip at Ice Lake in September, but managed to snag that one, too. :)

I did a September trip to Ice Lake with my son when he was four years old. We camped for two nights at site 4D2 on the east end of the lake. On our second night, we got to watch two bull elk in the rut going after each other from our tent. That was a special evening for sure. Can't believe that was 21 years ago. :)

Nice. We did Ice, Grebe, and Cascade last August. Carried in a lot of fresh groceries for an awesome dinner that first night as Ice Lake, then we saw a bull moose as we were hiking up to Cascade Lake.

Sounds incredible! We did a loop around Ice Lake and Virginia Meadows last year and my boys asked if we could camp by the lake. I think they meant right then, but better late than never, right?

That's a fun trip - I'm hoping to do some day hiking towards at least Wolf/Grebe lakes depending on my boys' feelings. Might do Observation Peak or Arrow Canyon by myself if the wife and kids prefer to hang at camp.
