Hey Everyone,

I am looking for a quick weekend getaway Dec 21-23. We are thinking of doing Bryce Canyon or maybe even Zion, but would be up for any suggestions. Just looking to go somewhere that has some easy-moderate trails that are accessible in the winter. We have never snowshoe'd before, but are not opposed to giving it a go. Any suggestions would be great :)

@Jackson and I did the Fairyland Loop in Bryce Canyon NP a few winters back and absolutely loved it! I don't remember it being difficult, although it was fairly long for a day hike (8 miles round trip). I believe we did it in late January/early February... I'm not sure how much conditions would differ from then as opposed to when you're aiming for. Jackson - any thoughts on that?

Just go prepared for snow in either location, and watch the forecast. Fairyland in Bryce for us was pretty well packed snow, but it could vary. Maybe pack the snowshoes just in case, then decide once you're at the trailhead. Those parks are wonderful in winter!

Check out SW part of Zion in the Coalpits area. It's only about 4k so the temps are a little bit more moderate. Watch for slippery clay-based mud though.
