We are planning a thru hike from Green River Lakes TH to Elkhart Park. We are new to the Winds so we have kind of a open window of 7-10 days to do this. We hope to make it to the Beaver Park area on day 1 and we plan on nights at Upper Jean , Island Lake, Titcomb basin and Hobbs Lake. My question is. Are there good campsite options in the Vista pass/Dale lake area? And/ or the Cube Rock pass/ Peak lake area.
We had hope to spend a day or two in this part of the park too.
Any input would be helpful.
Thanks

We camped at Dale Lake. Around Vista Pass has flat areas as well. After you drop into the Green river from Vista Pas its a hard hike up thru the blocks. No real trail but there usually are cairns. Personally I'd go the other way around. It's a long uphill haul from Green River TH. We camped at Dale, then camped at the upper end of Green River Lakes, then out the next morning. I have a video and gps tracks in the resource section.

Thanks for the reply Bob.
I was hoping to hear from you or Nick, I know you guys have been there.
And we are still considering going the opposite direction.
I will check out your TR and.video.
thanks for input

Starting at Elkhart you have a initial uphill, but not like coming out of GR lakes. Going from Seneca to Cube Rock is easy walking.....
Remember you have the altitude thing going on, takes a couple days to get your wind.

You can't go wrong with Titcomb Basis. I did it two summers ago with a friend of mine. Stunning is the word. We did a day hike to the end of the basin and up towards what looked like a pass. Excellent way to spend a layover.
