Nene - Hawaiian Goose
i-25mmmCH-XL.jpg

The Nene is an endangered endemic species of goose and is only found in Hawai'i.
They loose like Canada geese but at one point in history they landed in Hawai'i and elvolved into a endemic subspecies.
At one point there were only 30 birds left but conservation efforts helped to safe the species and now there are about 2,000 left in the wild.

Trumpeter Swan ... at Seney National Wildlife Refuge, UP Michigan

20190628_180932.jpg

There were a lot of the swans in this refuge ... we were impressed. Also saw a bald eagle (and nest) and some sandhill cranes. Photos will have to wait until later because they're on my wife's camera (this photo was taken with my cell phone)

Not the best pictures as I took them from the Jeep window, but I believe these are Sandhill Cranes. . . in Ohio. . . along the side of the road. This was a first for me. Just one of the reasons I drive around with my SLR camera everyday while working. . . now I am starting to think I need a larger selection of telephoto lenses!
