What is a good backpacking single person tent? 4 Season

I am looking at getting a new single person backpacking tent (4 season) and would like some recommendations of tents that have worked for you guys? I had the Ascend Nine that wasn't the best. Also not trying to break the bank but I am willing to spend a good amount just depends. Thanks in advance.

A ultralight 4 session tent? Kinda conflicting ... Never seen a ultralight to withstand heavy snow or wind... In real life.
 
I have a Hilleberg 4-season that's pretty bomb proof for winter alpine use. Not sure where you plan to go play with the thing, but as a brand they'd be worth checking out. I got the 2 man Allak because the extra room was worth a few more pounds to me, but they have plenty of solo offerings.

Well it's a 3 lb. solo shelter, so it's only light by winter standards.

I've been looking into a 4-season tent as well, but since my mid-winter trips have been fairly short I've been fine w/ my 3-season tents. The brand I've had recommended to me most often is Hilleberg - like @Wanderlust073 has - but I haven't tried one myself.

@JuddOutdoors - what sort of trips are you looking at using the tent for?
 
I’ve used a Hilleberg also for winter. I’ll take it to the Winds for Sept/Oct trips as well because it blocks out the wind. Expensive but great quality. I have the Niak, which is made out of their lighter material. I believe it’s around 3 1/2 pounds. Id say it’s a 1 1/2 person tent. I used it with my son when he was younger. Can’t do that now. Great space when I’m solo to keep my pack in the tent. You can add a second set of poles if you need to and double it up in the sleeve for extra strength. Packs down pretty small too. Hillebergs are good ... But it's a stretch to call them ultralight... Not
 
No one said that Hillebergs are ultralight Bob. An "ultralight 4 season tent" is an oxymoron..... unless you are MSRs marketing Dept I guess....lol. To clarify, I only use mine in the winter and on late season trips because it is heavier than my other tents. Only in alpine and tough weather conditions does it make sense to me.

I live by Tahoe so I plan on some trips out there. Some one made a good point, that if you get socked-in and have to stay in that single person gets a little uncomfortable. So that go me thinking I might lean towards a 2 man now. Little extra weight is worth the space!

Thank you for the info! Im starting to lean towards a little bit bigger of a tent incase I get socked in I can move a little more comfortably. little more weight for some more comfort. Ill check out those
 
My Bibler I-Tent is not light, 5 lbs or so, but it's bomber. Not really a solo tent, more like 1.5 people. I saw a used one locally for about $250.

MSR Carbon Fiber lines 1 person tents come with Storm Shield Protection and because of the Carbon Fiber Easton Syclone Poles they can flip over after 70 mph winds and then pop back up with no damage....there's videos on YouTube about this. For my 1 person tent I just use the Naturehike TARGA 2 as a 1 person tent and replaced the single pole and cross pole with Easton Carbon Fiber Syclone Poles weighs 2lbs 5oz all in with the bag. Naturehike also makes a 1 Person TARGA. You could also check out Slingfin Tents they offer a true 4 Season as well.
