I am quite happy with this. The Marias Massacre is a stain on our Nation's history that Doane is said to have bragged about the rest of his life. I love looking at this mountain and the Absaroka from the summit of Avalanche Peak in Yellowstone National Park. Avalanche has one of the greatest views I've ever seen and when it comes to an effort to reward equation in day hiking although steep the hike is under 6 miles total and worthy of any hiker's time.
