Both mine are black. Since I merge video I always set the cameras to match. I was pleasantly surprised to see less fisheye with the 3+ as it wasn't advertised. It's possible my 3 happened to have more fisheye as I got it when they first came out. I know they later corrected a number of things.
When a little out of kilter I can straighten them but lately they have been way out of kilter. The change came when I started using the extension arm with the Scotty mounts. If I set them lower, no problem, higher and I have a mess.
I have several video programs. Can't say I prefer one over the other although I am starting to like some cheap software from wondershare (it is a memory hog)
Any suggestions for video in video? I can only do picture in video. I thought it could be done with the GoPro software. Either I am not finding it, or I read a review wrong.
As for the housing, I prefer the 3 and had an extra. I use the 3+ when I know I will want to swap out the back often. With wet hands its easier to open.
