Just hiked Fiery Gizzard for the umpteenth time, and that trail never gets old to me, epecially at Chain Falls.



The rocks do get a little ehhh after a while, though.

I spent some time out in Kentucky last week. I got the chance to take my mtn bike on a few bike friendly trails in the Louisville area as well as Indiana. Very green compared to out west.

Just missed the wild flowers unfortunately. The entire hillside is covered in whatever flowers these would have been:

The trail gets crunchy here. Almost completely made up of pebble sized pumice from the 1980 eruption:

Heading back towards the trail head, the trail follows the edge of the ridge all the way around:

Chain Falls with the most flow I've seen.
However many times I've hiked it since this part was included in a re-route, I've yet to get over how cool it is that the trail goes under the waterfall.
