Total Solar Eclipse 8/21/2017

OK... I know this is early, but this potentially could be really cool:

To summarize: it'll be the first total solar eclipse to sweep across the US from coast to coast since 1918. Prime viewing spots will include the Tetons and Winds (plus many other spots from Oregon to the Smokey Mountains.)

I traveled to southern Mexico in the 90's just to see one of these. It is a totally awesome phenomenon and not to be missed. In fact you won't miss it if you are in the ground path. It turns to dusk quickly and strangely.

I have already been prepping my wife for date even though it's still 2 years out. Only because it will be the first day of school in Malad for my kids and they won't be there. I'm planing a trip on the Sawtooths/Reddish Lake. Wish me luck...

I will probably end up either in the Winds or Alaska Basin. If the weather is not promising enough I might drive somewhere else.
Have this in my mind for quite a few years now.

My thought was to drive up to Mackay ID and watch this from partway or all the way up Borah.
